This role offers the opportunity to contribute to validation of end-to-end optical networking solutions within Ciena’s Optical Platform Systems organization. The position supports system integration activities that ensure alignment between system behavior and design intent. Exposure to lab-based testing and collaboration with system architects enables development of practical engineering skills in optical networking environments.
Requirements
- Working towards completion of a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Application of Linux in academic or project-based environments
- Utilization of Python programming for automation or testing tasks
Nice To Haves
- Application of lab-based testing environments
- Exposure to fiber optics and optical networking concepts
Responsibilities
- Conduct system-level testing using Python automation scripts and manual execution methods
- Install and provision optical systems within a lab environment
- Troubleshoot system-level issues identified during testing activities
- Collaborate with System Architects to analyze and determine root causes of system behavior
- Execute validation activities using optical and electrical test equipment
