About The Position

The Systems Engineer will provide systems engineering services to support integration of the Orion Portable Crew Device (PCD) System, comprising approximately 15 devices, with the Human Landing System (HLS) project office and HLS vendors. The role also coordinates with the Moon Base Program and Orion Project Office, which is leading selection and certification of PCD system devices. The engineer supports project schedules, procurement documentation, budgets, requirements, and verification data packages. The role covers product life-cycle reviews; integration, verification, and validation; requirements alignment with hardware specifications; design feedback; ground and flight operations testing; review of compliance reports; and participation in system and design reviews. The engineer also contributes to Orion Con-Ops, architecture trade studies, electrical design and performance analyses, hardware testing and operations, risk planning, and customer progress reporting. The position is based onsite in B44, with situational telework only. Work is generally in an office environment, though tasks may involve inside or outside work. Regular attendance and the ability to adjust schedules for peak periods and surge requirements are important. Candidates must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation; proof of U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency may be required.
