About The Position

Belay Technologies is seeking a Mid-Level System Engineer to join their intel team. This position is part of a contractor-led team working collaboratively on sustainment and eventual transition and decommission of the application. The individual is expected to collaborate closely with the team and lead efforts for issue tracking, including managing the JIRA instance. The individual is also expected to learn the system to understand how the data is being used by stakeholders. They must be willing to work with the customer to capture and define requirements. Contribute to system engineering documentation and assisting with system requirements.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • A bachelor’s degree and fourteen (14) years' experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Nineteen (19) years of experience as an SE may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience assisting with the development of system requirements.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Experience closely collaborating and communicating with the customer.
  • Experience developing and updating technical documentation.
  • Experience with requirements management to include working with customers to capture clear definition of done.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with using Jira for project management and issue tracking
  • Experience with agile development methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the customer to develop and refine requirements.
  • Meet frequently with data providers and data consumers.
  • Conduct "source finding" activities to determine the original source of data products within the warehouse.
  • Develop high-level architecture and engineering diagrams depicting functional components of the system.
  • Assist with production system monitoring.
  • Collect, analyze, and present system usage metrics.
  • Generate documentation encompassing system description, contingency plans, and Interface Control Document (ICD) content to fulfill Transition and Decommission policies.
  • Develop and manage requirements and documentation in Jira and Confluence
  • Update and archive reports in IBM Cognos
  • Evaluate Informatica PowerCenter ETL workflows to document end-to-end data transformations and dependencies.
  • Assist data consumers in validating end-user-system replication of warehouse data processing.
  • Write and/or update SQL statements to query data from the warehouse.
  • Create and update a system description document that outlines all system capabilities and corresponding Transition and Decommission activities.
