About The Position

We are seeking a System Engineer to join our team supporting the DOE's Y-12 National Security Complex. This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, TN. The role involves supporting new machining center installations and/or existing machining production operations through configuration management, paperwork, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities. The engineer will apply systems and equipment expertise to resolve technical issues in cooperation with other disciplines.

Requirements

ABET Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience.
United States (U.S.) citizen.
Ability to obtain/maintain a DOE Q clearance.
Candidates with systems and equipment experience in mechanical and electrical systems preferred.
An understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
Willingness to work in a production environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment.
Experience in Integrated Safety Management.
Systems and equipment experience in mechanical and electrical systems.
MS Degree in Engineering.

Responsibilities

Support new machining center installations and/or existing machining production operations through supporting configuration management activities, various paperwork activities, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
Perform troubleshooting and improvement activities.
Apply systems and equipment expertise needed to resolve technical system and equipment issues in cooperation with other related disciplines.
