About The Position

The System Engineer Manager is responsible for the design, installation, administration, and optimization of the company's storage and computer environment—including Windows, Linux/Unix, Citrix, hypervisors, and related components—to ensure high performance of various business applications. This position manages professional-level employees and is accountable for maintaining optimal performance across business-critical systems.

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management.
Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols.
Strong understanding of load balancing technologies such as NetScaler and BIG-IP.
Master's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science required
10+ years related experience, training, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Proven experience in a leadership role within systems engineering required

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash to automate tasks and improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Ensures policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers, and stakeholders.
Manages and mentors a team of systems engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Sets goals and objectives for team members to achieve operational results.
