About The Position

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI w/ Fullscope Polygraph clearance to be considered. ProSync is seeking a Sr. System Engineer with experience in System Administration Automation, management and security compliance. Candidate must focus on maintaining system integrity, performance, and security for critical client/server environments, demanding strong problem-solving and communication skills. Candidate must be prepared to work with a small, mission focused team that frequently interacts with users and the customer.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of experience in system engineering (OR) An Associate's Degree, a High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general system engineering experience (OR) A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience (OR) A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience.
  • Advanced Linux experience; NSYS level troubleshooting experience.
  • Automated testing experience.
  • Scripting experience or at least the ability to walk through scripts for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Collection system knowledge/experience.
  • Tiered mission support experience.
  • Experience creating Ansible scripts.
  • Experience with containers.
  • An active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Nice To Haves

  • FORNSAT knowledge, experience within the collection environment.
  • TLS/server certificate installation/management/troubleshooting.
  • RF installation/modem experience​.
  • NiFi knowledge and experience in operational support and administrative tasks.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform deep‑level administration, tuning, and troubleshooting across complex Linux environments, including NSYS‑level diagnostic workflows and root‑cause analysis.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test procedures to validate system functionality, performance, and mission readiness.
  • Create, review, and debug scripts (Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.) to support automation, system diagnostics, and operational workflows.
  • Provide engineering and operational support for collection platforms, ensuring system stability, data integrity, and mission continuity.
  • Deliver multi‑tier operational support, including incident response, escalation handling, and coordination with mission operations teams.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks and automation pipelines for configuration management and system deployment.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker, Podman, or similar technologies.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot TLS/server certificates to ensure secure communication across distributed systems.
  • Support installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of RF systems, modems, and associated signal‑path components.
  • Provide operational and administrative support for NiFi dataflow environments, including performance tuning and flow optimization.
  • Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters supporting mission applications and distributed processing.
