We have an exciting opportunity for a System Engineer EVA Tools to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Experience with the development of requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteria
  • Experience with the design, assembly, testing, verification, and operation of hardware
  • Basic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design of software and tools
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • US Citizenship and the ability to pass a comprehensive security background investigation is required.

Nice To Haves

  • BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and two (2) years of direct engineering experience.
  • Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures
  • Experience with development of EVA hardware
  • Experience with Systems Engineering processes and techniques

Responsibilities

  • Participate in trade studies and analyses that will influence the design and performance of the hardware used for exploration and sample curation during Lunar excursions.
  • Perform requirements decomposition and develop requirements documents
  • Develop verification and validation plans and statements
  • Develop interface control documents
  • Review and provide comments on program documentation
  • Coordinate with Artemis system management teams
  • Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for support
  • Perform other duties as required
