About The Position

Aerodyne Industries is seeking a System Engineer EVA Tools to join the JETS team. This role involves supporting human space exploration and deep space pursuits for NASA. The company is a growing engineering and IT services firm with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions for NASA missions and national defense. The ideal candidate will be passionate about space exploration and eager to contribute creative ideas to a diverse team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Experience with the development of requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteria.
  • Experience with the design, assembly, testing, verification, and operation of hardware.
  • Basic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design of software and tools.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and two (2) years of direct engineering experience.
  • Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.
  • Experience with development of EVA hardware.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering processes and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in trade studies and analyses that will influence the design and performance of the hardware used for exploration and sample curation during Lunar excursions.
  • Perform requirements decomposition and develop requirements documents.
  • Develop verification and validation plans and statements.
  • Develop interface control documents.
  • Review and provide comments on program documentation.
  • Coordinate with Artemis system management teams.
  • Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for support.
  • Perform other duties as required.
