MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT The System Engineer shall play a critical role in defining the system architecture, setting technical standards, guiding implementation choices, and ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability for all software projects on the HPDA TTO. The System Engineer shall be responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders to gather, document, and track product requirements of a large-scale software system comprised of multiple interconnected modules and developed by diverse sub-teams. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to ensure architectural integrity, technical alignment, and high-quality delivery across all project teams. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science
  • Experience: 20+ years of related experience
  • Security clearance required: Active TS/SCI w/ Poly
  • Experience using the Linux CLI
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, IaC, DevOps, agile methodologies, and test automation
  • Experience working in environments with multiple software development sub-teams and interdependent systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with mission customers to gather product requirements, document/report project status, roadblocks, risks, and challenges
  • Experience tracking and managing product requirements to ensure requirements align with project goals
  • Experience creating and maintaining detailed documentation for system architecture, configurations, project status, and project schedules
  • Experience as a Scrum Master in facilitating Scrum teams to ensure adherence to Agile principles and practices
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Git Version Control System
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Experience with deploying containerized services under Kubernetes orchestration
