The System Engineer shall be responsible for providing support for a large scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all of the compute, network, memory, and storage system components. In addition, the System Engineer shall maintain the system security integrity and configure network components, along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science
- 20+ years of related experience
- Active TS/SCI w/ Poly security clearance
- Experience using the Linux CLI
- Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
- Experience performing System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large scale Linux cluster environment
- General technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite systems management solution
- Experience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution
- Experience with configuring and sustaining a VMware ESXi/Virtualization environment
- Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
- Experience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and procedures
- Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
Nice To Haves
- Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
- Experience with distributed files systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, and HDFS
- Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
