About The Position

Monitors and operates the OMS system, two-way radio and SCADA system. Maintains appropriate records and reports of events occurring. Responsible for data entry into SCADA and OMS computers and for maintenance of system data and records on department computers. Responsible for the observance of CEMC safety rules, procedures, safety policies, and bulletins. Monitors SCADA and OMS systems after regular working hours. Operates SCADA Controls. Coordinates with district office personnel and other necessary employees during outages. Dispatches outage information to crews when needed. Receives and issues requests from members for service orders for security light maintenance, member complaints, voltage issues, blinking lights, and disconnects. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving after hours issues by being available to dispatchers 24/7. Responsible for updating OMS archives with AMI data to ensure system outage reliability. Processes and reviews member requests relating to connections/disconnections. Works with appropriate personnel in districts to resolve issues pertaining to member billing. Answers prepaid metering questions. Sends signal from software to reconnect prepaid meter after "auto reconnect" has failed. Monitors weather situations to provide crews with information to keep them safe during storms. Maintaining/troubleshooting SCADA systems including hardware, software, and communications. Assists System Control Supervisor with the development and maintenance of the OMS, including automation of processes and integration with enterprise-level databases. Maintaining/troubleshooting AVL for all fleet vehicles as well as ensuring that internet connectivity is provided. Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the mobile workforce system. Maintaining/troubleshooting the two-way radio system to include all related hardware and software. Maintaining/troubleshooting camera security and card access systems. Ensures all doors are operating and locking properly. Maintains all scan cards and assigns to employees. Maintain the on-call software to ensure all personnel data is accurate and up to date.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Minimum of one year experience in the electric utility field, to include Engineering and/or Operations positions.
  • Minimum of one years of computer troubleshooting and software maintenance experience.
  • Must have strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Effective working knowledge of applicable NISC and SCADA software.
  • Effective working knowledge of CEMC safety rules, procedures, safety policies, and bulletins.
  • Effective working knowledge of CEMC policies and bulletins relating to customer service.
  • Knowledge of two-way radio equipment.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team atmosphere, assumes responsibility, and follows written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to recognize member needs and relay information to supervisor and appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with personnel at all levels and members, to include giving and receiving pertinent information clearly, concisely, and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree with studies concentrated in Information Technology or a related discipline to information systems.
  • Working knowledge of CEMC SCADA system and OMS software.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and the operation of a utility system.
