The System Administrator shall be responsible for providing support for a large-scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the compute, network, memory, and storage system components. In addition, the System Administrator shall maintain the system security integrity and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance. The role involves providing support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems, managing daily activities of configuration and operation, and assisting users. It includes Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem resolution, supporting IT systems operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various devices. The position also requires optimizing system operations, performing capacity analysis, providing in-depth troubleshooting, detailed analysis for escalated tickets, and supporting dispatch systems. The System Administrator will configure and manage operating systems, install software, troubleshoot and maintain network components, and implement OS enhancements. Support for system design, mission architecture, and associated hardware is also required, along with a working knowledge of system administration interdependencies within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and analyzing/resolving complex server hardware, application, and software integration issues.
