About The Position

The Software Integration Engineer (SIE 4) will be responsible for the test, evaluation, integration, and troubleshooting of the High-Performance Computing (HPC) software stack and related system issues. This role requires a strong background in HPC, Linux, and scripting, with a clearance of TS/SCI and a Polygraph required. The position is located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.

Requirements

  • Experience with the Linux CLI, and the Linux suite of tools
  • Extensive recent experience using Bash/Python to develop scripts
  • Solid understanding of the Slurm resource management and job scheduling tool
  • Experience with integration, evaluation, and system administration of HPC systems
  • Experience troubleshooting HPC system problems, including basic system administration tasks, including software stack issues and hardware issues
  • Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Salt and Ansible
  • Familiar with HPC shared file systems such as Lustre, GPFS, and Panasas
  • Familiar with system monitoring tools such as Ganglia and Nagios
  • Familiar with acceleration technologies such as GPU, FPGA, and ASICs
  • Familiar with high-speed network interconnect technologies such as InfiniBand and Slingshot
  • Familiar with open-source industry-standard HPC benchmark tooling
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems with a rigorous, analytical approach that enables diagnosis of root causes and discovery of mitigation/solution paths
  • Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software
  • Generate documentation for the full software stack
  • Update software for sustainment support
  • Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting
  • Execute test codes for characterization of software performance
  • Provide software product ownership for HPC tools
  • Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms
  • Develop software tool plugins in the language in which the tools are written
  • Determine the optimal, or best available, HPC configuration for customer needs
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and at least ten (10) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
  • Five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and at least ten (10) years of demonstrable experience.

  • Experience supporting HPC large-scale systems and customers
  • An industry recognized professional certification, as defined in the TT0s, may substitute as one (1) year experience.
  • A Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years' experience.
