About The Position

NexusTek is seeking a proactive and independent System Administrator to join their internal IT team. This role involves a variety of Tier I, II, and III technical support responsibilities, requiring a thorough understanding of information technology and remote desktop support. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, dedicated to providing excellent customer service, and possess meticulous attention to detail in their work, documentation, and timekeeping. This is a fast-paced, ever-changing IT position where you will work hands-on with the latest technology across multiple systems and tools, while also engaging with internal users to understand and enhance their technology needs and efficiencies.

  • Firewalls (Cisco Meraki, Sonicwall)
  • Public DNS Knowledge of Network Management (SNMP, MIB)
  • Configuration of DMZ, IDS/IPS, Encryption, ACL's, 802.1x
  • Wireless technologies (802.11a/b/g/n, WPA2, WLC, WAP)
  • Remote Access Platforms, such as Cisco AnyConnect
  • PC hardware troubleshooting
  • MacOS configuration and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance via tickets generated by e-mail and phone calls.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in information technology and administration.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and security of the internal customer support and tickets, records, and sensitive information in accordance with company policies.
  • Diagnose, research, troubleshoot, and resolve Tier I, II, and III technical hardware (printer, computer, peripherals) and common software issues.
  • Assist users that may be locked out of computing devices, cloud services, or other applications.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Maintain the highest possible level of customer service.
  • Work with vendors to provide internal users with updates on ISP outages or vendor support issues.
  • Assist with the upkeep of internal environment documentation.
  • Identify and contribute to automating tasks and processes.
  • Work with the HR team and managers of various levels on the onboarding and offboarding of NexusTek employees and contractors.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and tools.
  • Asset management – provide adequate laptops and required equipment to new employees, replace/refresh gear for existing employees, and ensure that equipment is returned by former employees.
  • Minor office tasks such as collecting mail, accepting deliveries, etc.
