About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Biometrically Enhanced Access Control – Husbanding (BEACH) program in partnership with the U.S. Navy and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). The qualified candidate will provide IT support for a cutting-edge, biometrically enabled access control system designed to streamline vetting, real-time authentication, and access control of foreign contract personnel at foreign ports. Responsibilities

  • Support the operation and maintenance of a customized biometric access control system engineered for rapid fielding and scalability across Navy and NCIS installations.
  • Work on deployable IT systems supporting Force Protection requirements at foreign ports.
  • Development and integration of new software and technology in support of biometric and access control capabilities.
  • Report and document issues and actions taken daily and weekly.
  • Communicate effectively with end users via phone, email, chat, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues in a timely manner according to mission guidelines.
  • Installation of new hardware or software.
  • Maintaining computer systems such as servers, laptops, and embedded systems.
  • Planning and properly responding to system outages and various other problems.
  • Training computer users and assistants.
