About The Position

CG Wellington (CGW) is a private, family-owned investment company focussed on the dairy and agriculture sectors. CGW is known for investing in innovative companies that support animal health, welfare, and farm productivity. The Systems Administrator at CG Wellington will be a member of the Corporate Services team, reporting directly to the IT Supervisor. The Systems Administrator provides first-line technical support to employees by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. This role ensures timely resolution of technical problems, maintains strong customer service standards, and supports the reliability and efficiency of the organization’s IT systems and tools. The IT team consists of the IT Supervisor and a System Administrator and supports users worldwide across five different companies in the CGW family. The Systems Administrator plays an important role in ensuring all day-to-day tasks and frontline tickets and calls are triaged.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in an enterprise environment
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience working in an IT support role
  • Help Desk Experience with Windows 11, Active Directory & Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Entra, SharePoint, Linux, Scale Computing Virtual Machines, Mitel, and Mobile devices (Android, IOS)
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, multi-company environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Desktop & Server Support to a growing base of internal employees (~180 staff total at present)
  • Manage and support Active Directory, Windows Server environments, SharePoint, Exchange and O365
  • Administrate and support end point management systems, and group policies
  • Setup, configuration and deployment of computers, software and mobile devices to users
  • Installation, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, upgrading and documenting all user-based hardware and equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Updates and maintains system architectural diagrams and documentation. Develop and implement IT policies and procedures
  • New user onboarding which includes account creation, providing orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Provide end-user training when/where appropriate and required
  • Maintain IT asset database, records/logs of repairs and fixes
  • Help build an internal knowledgebase with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Traveling between Multiple Southern Ontario Sites on a semi-regular basis
  • Escalate cases with proper documentation of troubleshooting to higher-level resources as required
  • Provide after-hours support in the event of an outage of any critical systems
  • Participate in cross-training and inter-disciplinary continuous learning
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supported products and any required certifications
  • Support IT Supervisor and Corporate Services team on strategic projects
  • Other duties as required
