This role is essential for the management and security of a dedicated cyber environment, combining traditional systems administration with advanced security operations. Clearance: DOE Q-Clearance or TS Equivalent (Eligible to Obtain) Work Location: Hybrid - 3 days in DC (Subject to change)

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience or High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience.
  • Certifications: Microsoft and Linux Operating System certifications. Hold certificates of completion or certifications for at least five (5) specialized applications (see Preferred list below).
  • Direct experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and GlobalProtect.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server/Workstation, Ubuntu, and RHEL.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and support multiple time zones as needed.
  • Must pass a mandatory drug test and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates should have functional knowledge or certifications in the following:
  • Splunk, Tenable Network Security, Forescout, Tanium.
  • Cisco, Gigamon, Corelight, SentryWire.
  • VMware, Commvault.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support and analysis for Microsoft Windows Server/Workstation, Ubuntu, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Setup, test, and configure hardware and software components within a live production environment.
  • Execute baseline STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) configurations for infrastructure equipment, OS, and applications.
  • Support NIST Assessment and Authorization (A&A) functional requirements.
  • Manage Incident Response and Contingency Planning protocols to ensure environment resilience.
  • Perform continuous monitoring and active management to proactively enhance the security posture of the environment.
  • Document and refine technical processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Deliver technical presentations and maintain professional communications via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Participate in extensive cross-training across various technical domains. Must be able to multitask, pivot between high-priority activities, and maintain focus in a dynamic setting.
