About The Position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is searching for a Systems Administrator – Journeyman to support United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Defensive Cyber Operations rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Primacy on Linux/RHEL operating systems administration and associated hardware; knowledgeable on Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Experience in effective communication and collaborating in a high-performance team environment.
  • Group Policy design and configuration
  • Working knowledge of CISCO network and switching and virtualization technologies
  • Working knowledge of virtualization as it applies to users environments, operating systems, and network appliances - Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies and data backup technologies
  • Working knowledge communication security (COMSEC) policies and integration
  • Working knowledge and current relevant experience with IL4 and above network environments/systems
  • Must be familiar with DoD policy as it applies to implementing and executing system and network administration
  • Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework and how to apply it to network/information system environments
  • Working knowledge in the following programming languages: - Bash scripting, Python
  • Must possess a Top Secret with SCI eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
  • Experience with USSF Defensive Cyber Operations
  • SAR/SAP experience highly desirable
