About The Position

Prowess Consulting is looking for an enthusiastic junior System Administrator/System/Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have skills in a variety of technologies including storage, compute and networking. Strong trouble shooting and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively to resolve issues. This role will require 3 – 5 days per week in our Bellevue, WA office. This is a part-time, hourly role that can be worked remotely, however, collaboration with teammates centered in the Pacific time zone will be essential.

Requirements

Associate degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
2+ years’ experience or working knowledge administrating AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle cloud
2+ years or working knowledge with scripting languages such as Python and Batch/Shell scripts
Ability to take clear notes and write concise technical documentation
Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing.
Must be able to work Pacific Time Zone

Nice To Haves

2+ years’ experience in a Windows environment
2+ years' experience with Linux Administration
1+ year experience in configuring enterprise storage
1+ year consumer hardware benchmarking and testing
2+ years with building sandbox and lab environments
Ability to conduct research to learn and understand new technologies

Responsibilities

Researching, testing, development and writing in support of benchmarking, and testing
Running publicly available hardware benchmarks and tracking results
Running provided Python/PowerShell/Bash/Shell scripts or interactive steps to stress test server infrastructure hardware
