About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking a System Administrator 3 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role involves designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for various customers. The position requires onsite support in the Washington D.C. area and offers an opportunity to be part of a team that enhances customer outcomes and drives impactful change through engineering innovation.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship for access to classified information.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ Years of progressive experience OR Associate Degree and 8+ Years of progressive experience OR HS Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ Years of progressive experience.
  • System administrator experience in performing triage, resolving system problems, analyzing system data, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.
  • 5+ years of experience programming/administrating Physical Access Control Systems.
  • Demonstrated previous experience effectively managing small teams.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Windows active directory hierarchy and implementation.
  • Basic knowledge of large-scale networking, VLANs and routing.
  • Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts that include nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Minimum of Security+ Certification, CASP, or CISSP certification.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with ACAS and HBSS and mitigation strategies.
  • Assessment, mitigation, and closure of network vulnerabilities and vulnerability management eMASS.
  • Applying STIGs to servers, databases, applications, and other hardware Security Readiness Review (SRR) Tools (scripts and ACAS).
  • Excellent understanding of the DoD RMF lifecycle and NIST 800-53 controls implementation.
  • Awareness of NIST Special Publication 800-82, Guide to Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security and UFC 4-010-06 Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) Cybersecurity of Facility.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and test Physical Access Control, CCTV, PSIM, and other electronic security systems.
  • Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems for endpoint devices.
  • Provide Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Escalate and communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements.
  • Configure and manage Windows operating systems and install/load operating system software.
  • Perform desktop hardware and operating system set-up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updates.
  • Analyze security system infrastructure performance and recommend improvements.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure components, implementing operating system enhancements.
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets.
  • Perform IAVA updates and patching to ensure compliance with Information Assurance (IA) standards.
  • Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to Windows-based operating systems.
  • Implement and maintain enterprise Windows Active Directory Architectures.
  • Perform daily operations including Active Directory management, monitoring, and reviewing system logs.
  • Configure and maintain virtual hypervisors (e.g., VMware and Hypervisor).
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms (e.g., Citrix Xen Desktop).
  • Install, configure, and maintain 3rd party applications.
  • Install, configure, and maintain highly available SQL database Engines.
  • Deploy and maintain storage platforms (e.g., Dell EqualLogic and Dell Powervault).
  • Analyze requirements for future deployments and make recommendations for IT infrastructure.
  • Perform root cause analysis on significant issues across all tiers of support.
  • Perform preventive maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, database size analysis, and integrity checks.
  • Develop new system and application implementation plans, including testing procedures.
  • Stay current with technological developments and make recommendations.
  • Create technical documentation (SOPs, as-builds) for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Train system users and other system support personnel.
  • Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision.
