About The Position

System Administrator 2! Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required Bachelors Degree in technical discipline required + 5 years experience OR Highschool diploma + 10 years experience in program of similar scope, type, and complexity. Description: Creates, and maintains RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS). Evaluates systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches. Performs command line system administration tasks on virtual machines. Handles regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality. Communicates with developers and dev ops team members to provide system administration support.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Linux.
  • Minimum of 3 years Linux system administration experience (within the last 3 years).
  • Experience with patching and upgrading Linux servers and networking resources.
  • VM experience
  • Security + cert
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required
  • Bachelors Degree in technical discipline required + 5 years experience OR Highschool diploma + 10 years experience in program of similar scope, type, and complexity

Responsibilities

  • Stand up, configure, and maintain Linux servers.
  • Monitoring and patching/upgrades to standard networking resources (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Monitoring and patching/upgrades to servers and VM hardware.
  • Assist and incorporate security compliance controls as applicable.
  • Support documentation of non-applicable controls.
  • Assist with installation of new or replacement hardware or software.
  • Configure and integrate hardware or software with existing networked infrastructure.
  • Assist with decommission and/or removal of obsolete, excess, or replaced hardware.
  • Document inventory changes.
