About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking a System Administrator 2 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role is part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers. The position is located at a single on-site work location and requires flexibility in schedule, professional appearance, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.

Requirements

  • 2+ Years of Experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity preferred
  • 6+ Years of Experience with an Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity preferred
  • 8+ Years of Experience with a High School Diploma
  • System administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.
  • Understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows active directory hierarchy and implementation.
  • Basic knowledge of large scale networking, VLANS and routing.
  • Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer.
  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification/Experience in CCure 9000 Genetec Access Control System and Genetec Video Management System desired.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Query writing and management experience desired.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Microsoft Server (2012, 2016) desired.
  • Installation and configuration of operating system software (i.e. Win10/ Win Server 2016) experience desired.
  • Experience programming/administrating Access Control Systems of any type desired.
  • Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and testing of security electronics equipment desired.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring, maintaining, and testing of Physical Access Control, CCTV, PSIM and Integrated Electronic Systems.
  • Managing physical security system support to meet service level agreements.
  • Analyzing physical security system performance and recommending improvements.
  • Resolving complex system issues for physical security systems and networks.
  • Triaging customer support calls, providing Tier 1 help desk support and Tier 2 escalation.
  • Communicating with customers, manufacturers, vendors, and technical specialists.
  • Training system users and other system support personnel.
  • Analyzing and modifying preventive maintenance checklists for system changes.
  • Troubleshooting system performance issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Performing preventive maintenance actions including system back-ups, error log reviews, database size, and integrity checks.
  • Organizing and preparing detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysis.
  • Performing desktop hardware and operating system set-up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updates.
  • Performing all duties with minimal direct supervision.
