About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking a System Administrator 1 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role involves working within a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for various customers. Requirements

  • BS degree and 0+ Years of progressive experience OR HS Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ Years of progressive experience.
  • Some system administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Basic knowledge of large-scale networking, VLANs, and routing.
  • Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer.
  • Requires the ability to work flexible shifts that include nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Able to use MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification/Experience in Genetec Access Control System and Genetec Video Management System.
  • Experience programming/administrating Access Control Systems of any type.
  • Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and testing of security electronics equipment.
  • Access management to include clearance and user credentials.
  • Routine audits of cardholders, accesses, and clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and test Physical Access Control, CCTV, PSIM, and other electronic security systems.
  • Support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems for endpoint devices.
  • Provide Tier 1 helpdesk support.
  • Assist end users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Answer Help desk phone calls, triage initial calls, provide support, and determine when escalation is required.
  • Utilize a technology-based problem tracking system (ticketing system) to document helpdesk calls, troubleshooting steps, and escalations.
  • Monitor Enterprise system status for problems such as network outages or degraded services, perform initial troubleshooting, and notify appropriate Sr. Level administrators.
  • Support daily operations, including monitoring and reviewing system logs.
  • Support configuration and management of Windows operating systems and installation/loading of operating system software.
  • Support desktop hardware and operating system set-up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updates.
  • Support application of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to Windows-based operating systems (servers and workstations).
  • Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of 3rd party applications.
  • Perform root cause analysis on significant issues at the appropriate level of support.
  • Support preventive maintenance actions, including system back-ups, error log reviews, database size analysis, and integrity checks.
  • Stay current with technological developments and make recommendations for leveraging new and emerging technology.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, such as standard operating procedures (SOP) and as-builds, for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Perform all duties under direct supervision.
