About The Position

Marmon Industrial Energy and Infrastructure, a part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking an experienced, hands-on Systems Administrator to join its IT team in Cleveland, OH. This role is the primary point of contact for all day-to-day IT operations across the Cleveland facility and secondary sites in Cardington, OH and Houston, TX. The ideal candidate brings 5–7 years of practical experience in systems administration and is comfortable working both independently and alongside corporate IT teams.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in a systems administration or IT infrastructure support role.
  • Experience supporting IT infrastructure, including networking equipment, servers, and end-user hardware.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Windows Server environments.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization and SAN administration.
  • Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions, preferably Veeam.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and data protection best practices.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with both on-site staff and corporate IT.
  • Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting or administering ERP systems is a plus.
  • Experience supporting multi-site IT environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of network security practices and compliance standards.
  • Experience with network inventory tools such as Lansweeper.
  • Prior experience coordinating with external IT consultants or vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain IT infrastructure at the Cleveland site, including hardware, network equipment, servers, and end-user devices.
  • Administer and maintain VMware virtualization environments and associated storage area network (SAN) infrastructure.
  • Manage and administer Microsoft 365 tenant, Active Directory, and Windows Server environments.
  • Serve as a point of contact for cybersecurity practices, supporting data integrity, security policies, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Administer and support the company ERP system, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Manage and maintain the Veeam backup system, ensuring reliable data protection and recovery capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across networks, systems, and applications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure across company locations, including switches, VLANs, and related equipment.
  • Define and maintain standard configurations for servers, computers, and software; manage inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Maintain IT policies, procedures, and system documentation, including the IT section of the disaster recovery plan; assume a lead role in IT disaster recovery efforts.
  • Maintain telephone and voicemail systems.
  • Collaborate with corporate IT teams and coordinate with external IT consultants as needed.
  • Support IT infrastructure at a secondary site in Cardington, OH (approximately 90 minutes from Cleveland); on-site visits are infrequent but required as needed.
  • Perform data processing duties in support of annual physical inventory.
  • All other duties as assigned.
