About The Position

Hamilton Lane is seeking a Syndication Manager to help build and lead a scalable, centralized syndication function. This role will be responsible for coordinating the end-to-end execution of syndication opportunities and serving as the central point of coordination across deal teams, product specialists, sales coverage, legal, operations, and investors. The successful candidate will be highly organized, process-oriented, and execution-driven professional with a strong focus on relationship management. Proven ability to coordinate complex transactions, streamline workflows, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful syndication outcomes. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
15+ years of relevant experience in private markets, investment banking, capital markets, investor relations, syndication, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience managing complex transactions or investor processes from inception through closing.
Strong understanding of private markets and the needs of institutional investors, including investment committee, diligence, documentation, and funding processes.
Experience working across product, investment, distribution, legal, operations, and other cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior investors, investment professionals, and internal stakeholders.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and tight timelines simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead investor calls and communicate clearly in high-pressure situations.
High level of judgment, discretion, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM, investor-data, data-room, or workflow-management tools.

Direct experience with co-investment, syndication, secondaries, private equity, private credit, infrastructure, venture, or other private-market transactions.
Experience developing investor segmentation, tiering, targeting, or allocation frameworks.

Familiarity with investor data management and the use of relationship intelligence to inform business decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end syndication process
Engage early with deal teams as opportunities become actionable, including during earlier pipeline stages where appropriate.
Develop and manage transaction timelines, milestones, workstreams, and stakeholder responsibilities.
Coordinate the syndication process across deal teams, product specialists, sales coverage, legal, operations, and other internal partners.
Serve as the primary internal point of coordination and the face of syndication for relevant external investor interactions.
Identify process risks, resolve issues, and escalate matters requiring senior investment, legal, or operational input.
Drive execution discipline, consistency, and continuous improvement across transactions.
Manage investor targeting and book-building
Partner with product specialists and regional coverage teams to develop targeted investor lists for each opportunity.
Evaluate investor fit based on strategy, mandate, transaction preferences, historical engagement, expected capacity, relationship priorities, and execution reliability.
Build and manage demand, including appropriate levels of “shadow demand” to account for late-stage changes or investor attrition.
Support thoughtful allocation decisions that balance investor relationships, strategic priorities, regional and channel considerations, risk management, and transaction objectives.
Communicate allocation decisions clearly and professionally, including when requested allocations must be adjusted.
Coordinate investor communications and diligence
Organize and lead deal launch calls, webinars, and other investor communications alongside the relevant platform specialist/deal team.
Coordinate preparation and distribution of transaction materials and ensure that communications are accurate, timely, and appropriately tailored.
Solicit, consolidate, and prioritize investor questions in advance of diligence calls.
Manage group diligence sessions, follow-up Q&A, and targeted one-on-one discussions as appropriate.
Respond directly to routine diligence questions and engage deal teams for deeper thesis discussions or matters requiring specialized expertise.
Ensure that relevant calls and Q&A sessions are documented and made available to investors through the appropriate data room or other approved channels.
Oversee data rooms, documentation, and closing execution
Establish and maintain a well-organized data room for each syndication opportunity.
Coordinate data room access, materials, updates, diligence requests, and version control.
Manage the flow of information and follow-ups through the investor decision-making process.
Coordinate investor approval processes, subscription documentation, legal deliverables, and operational requirements.
Partner with legal, operations, and other internal stakeholders to support funding mechanics and a successful close.
Maintain a clear record of transaction status, outstanding items, decisions, and next steps.
Build and maintain investor intelligence
Create and maintain an “LP Bible” for each relevant investor platform or relationship.
Track investor preferences, mandate characteristics, deal types of interest, opportunities shown, timing, responses, sizing, performance of shown opportunities, reasons for declining, and historical success rates.
Use investor-level data and relationship context to improve targeting, timing, communication, and allocation decisions.
Develop reporting and feedback mechanisms that help measure process consistency, investor engagement, demand, placement outcomes, and areas for improvement.
Partner with product specialists and sales coverage teams to keep investor intelligence current and actionable.
Establish a scalable function
Help design and implement standardized syndication procedures, templates, controls, and service-level expectations.
Identify opportunities to streamline execution and reduce unnecessary burden on deal teams while preserving appropriate investor access to deal leadership.
Develop repeatable approaches for deal launch, diligence, Q&A, allocation, closing, and post-deal review.
Gather feedback from investors, deal teams, product specialists, sales coverage, legal, and operations to improve the syndication model.
Contribute to the future build-out of the syndication team, systems, and operating model.
