About The Position

South East Switchgear, an IPS Company, is seeking a dedicated Switchgear Technician. In this position you will be responsible for testing, repair, recondition(recertification, remanufacturing) and retrofitting services on switchgear and switchgear components to meet or exceed PEARL standards. This position requires a self-motivated, detail-oriented team member with the ability to learn quickly and work safely.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical aptitude required
• Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test and be trained on proper respirator protocol
• General understanding and firsthand experience with safe work environments
• Be able to read, interpret, and modify documents
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an excellent driving record
• Ability to learn quickly, demonstrate comprehension, and work independently with new tasks
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with managers and fellow employees
• Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude

Nice To Haves

• Ability to possess the following certifications: PearlTM Level I and II, Forklift training, TSC Electrical Training Classes completed within one (1) year of hire date, Mine and Safety Administration (MSHA) Training, 10-30 Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Card, In-house training on individual machines in the shop
