About The Position

Responsible for assembling/disassembling industrial grade electrical switchgear and creating custom enclosures and buss work per customer specifications. This role involves setting up and operating metal working machines, handling materials, reading blueprints, problem-solving, building individual parts and low production runs, creating custom enclosures and buss work, building prototypes, testing products, cutting and welding metal, and correctly installing insulation over buss. The technician will also be responsible for racking breakers in and out of cubicles and understanding correct interlock positions. The role is project and demand oriented, measured by meeting objectives, timely completion, accuracy, and neatness of work. The work area must remain tidy, and records of all work performed, including images, must be maintained.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical and construction aptitude and troubleshooting/problem solving skills
  • Ability to read common measurement tools (tape, scale, calipers, etc.)
  • Must own and use your own mechanics tools
  • Deadline and detail-oriented is a MUST
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as part of a team or individually
  • Able to work with shop technicians and engineering to create structures and parts
  • Willingness to learn
