About The Position

Flex is seeking a Switchgear Assembler in USA Fontana, Ca. This role reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for assembling fabricated metal parts for switchgear cabinets according to specifications. The company is a diversified manufacturing partner that helps market-leading brands design, build, and deliver innovative products. The company is planning to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new company, Axiom, in Q1 2027, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure and power/thermal management solutions for AI data centers and mission-critical applications. If the spin occurs, this role will support Axiom.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
2-4 years of related experience in assembly or manufacturing setting
Prior experience operating powered equipment (forklift, reach truck, scissors lift, overhead crane, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately
Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and safety management
Reading comprehension skills with the ability to interpret and follow written directions, blueprints, wiring drawings, schematics, and engineering diagrams
Basic math skills to meet technical specifications and measurements
Basic understanding of tools (e.g., tape measure, impact drill, etc.)
Demonstrated proficiency with the ability to safely operate powered equipment (forklift, reach truck, scissors lift, overhead crane, etc.)

Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and follow various blueprints, diagrams, procedures, and work instructions to complete assemblies for enclosure buildings.
Perform mechanical assembly of components for switchgear cabinets.
Use various power tools and hand tools (e.g., drills, impacts, screwdrivers, grinders) to accomplish assigned tasks.
Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm that assembled products meet specifications and quality standards.
Identify any product defects; record and report them accordingly.
Monitor and maintain inventory of necessary supplies, tools, and parts in the work station.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
