About The Position

The Switchboard Operator is responsible for managing all incoming calls to Black River Health, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate personnel or department efficiently and professionally. The position available is:

Full-time, 80 hours per pay period, benefited. Day Shift M-F

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Six months of related training or experience preferred
• Proficiency in using computers, calculators, and various communication equipment
• Oral and written communication skills required

Responsibilities

• Answers and routes all incoming calls to the appropriate personnel or department in a prompt and professional manner.
• Takes and relays messages accurately, ensuring timely delivery.
• Monitors and responds to emergency codes and alarms per hospital protocols.
• Backup support for Patient Access services, including patient portal help, appointment scheduling calls, and PAR‑related functions.
• Supports Patient Access operations through tasks such as scheduling appointments, scanning records, and updating patient charts for accuracy and completeness.
