About The Position

Ensure all phone lines are answered in a timely manner. Treat all incoming phone calls with dignity and efficiency. Transfer all patient calls to the proper room or area in which the caller requests. To ensure all emergency phone calls are treated with professionalism and efficiency. This role pays a flat $15.60/hr, not negotiable.

Requirements

  • 1 year Relevant Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Operates a PBX switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls appropriately
  • Maintains a working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in accordance with hospital policy
  • Works under immediate supervision of PBX supervisor
  • Follows direct instructions as prescribed by the PBX supervisor, ED Patient Access Supervisor, Patient Access Director, Rehab Director and/or the Psych Director
  • Welcome patient and family members in a professional manner
  • Contact the nursing staff for emergency medical needs and answer patient and visitor questions
