About The Position

A Swiss Machine Operator primarily operates and sets up Swiss-style CNC lathes to produce precision parts. They read technical drawings, select appropriate tools, perform routine maintenance, and conduct quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications. They often collaborate with engineering and quality teams to refine processes and improve product quality. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience as a Swiss Machinist in a precision fabrication environment.
• Proficient in operating and setting up Swiss-style CNC lathes and machines.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and fixture design.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Technical certification or associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with programming CNC machines using CAM software.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up Swiss-style CNC lathes and machines to produce precision parts for various industries, including medical devices, aerospace, and automotive.
• Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
• Select appropriate tools, inserts, and machine parameters to optimize machining efficiency and part quality.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on Swiss machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to refine machining processes and improve product quality.
• Conduct in-process inspections and quality checks to ensure parts meet specified tolerances and standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
