About The Position

CompX National is hiring a Swiss Lathe Machinist on our 1st Shift. Be part of our CompX National team and enjoy our excellent benefits. This role involves setting up and operating Swiss Lathe machines in a team environment, maintaining high quality and efficiency in a fast-paced setting. The machinist will use precision measuring tools and read blueprints to ensure close tolerance requirements are met. The position requires operating multiple machines simultaneously and adhering to safety regulations and lean manufacturing principles. The work environment may involve oil, coolant, and chips, and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting while supporting quality and compliance through adherence to all procedures and work instructions.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent.
Five (5) years CNC Mill/Lathe programming and operational experience.
Strong math background, preferable in machine math/shop math.
Comprehensive knowledge of reading blueprints, ISO documents, and measuring equipment.
Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Ability to work in an environment of oil, coolant, and chips.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Setup and operate Swiss Lathe in a team environment.
Maintain excellent quality and high efficiency in a fast-paced work environment.
Use precision measuring tools to check and inspect to close tolerance requirements.
Read precision measuring instruments such as comparators, indicators, calipers, height gauge, and micrometers.
Operates multiple machines simultaneously.
Adhere to all Company safety regulations.
Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality System.
May be required to perform other jobs as needed by the Company.
