About The Position

Posimech is an AS9100/ISO9001 certified High-Mix/Low-Volume precision machine shop with a track record of being our customers' top performing supplier. In business 45-years and continuing to grow, we supply critical parts and electro-mechanical sub-assemblies for all major military aircraft - fixed and rotary - as well as ground-support systems. Our products are also used on most Boeing and some Airbus projects, and are used by some of the country’s top manufacturing firms in a variety of other industries. We are also starting to provide parts for some SpaceX projects. Posimech is growing and there are opportunities to build your skills across different technologies and move up or across into new roles. We are looking for a career focused CNC Swiss Lathe Machinist who is a problem-solver who can roll up their sleeves, think on their feet, and work on complex Swiss screw machines. This is a full-time on-site role located in Medford, NY. Part Time, afternoon or evening hours would be considered for candidates with the right experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years working in an aerospace, military, medical or industrial machine shop required.
  • Experience with Turning, Swiss, and/or Milling machines or CNC Machine Operator certificate required.
  • Experience in CNC machine set up and operation required. Including both legacy components and new production orders.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints required.
  • Experience holding tolerances to .0002" and .001 True Position.
  • Working knowledge of various materials & tools (inserts, endmills, drills Etc.) required.
  • Ability to use measuring tools as required (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Must be dependable and possess a willingness to learn new techniques.
  • Must be a US person as defined by (ITAR) The International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
  • Must read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to regularly stand and lift 20lbs, occasionally lift up to 50lb.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience editing and programming with CAD/CAM software and CNC programs a plus.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Verify components are produced to print (dimensional and visual inspection), holding tight tolerance of +/- .0002
  • Make offsets.
  • Start the machining cycle.
  • Load and unload parts in the machine.
  • Complete all paperwork related to production.
  • Change tooling as needed.
  • Meet quality standards and production schedules.
  • Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure proper material control, identification, and traceability for conforming and nonconforming materials.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and follow occupational safety and health requirements, including PPE guidance
  • Support Quality Best Practices and contribute to continuous improvement
