Step into the role Walk into a temperature-controlled shop, pull up your ERP-dispatched work order, and ready a Citizen or Tsugami Swiss-type lathe for a new medical implant. You verify tooling, dial in offsets, run a first-piece, and fine-tune code to hit spec. Between runs, you mentor teammates, keep setup docs up-to-date under change control, and push continuous improvement so parts ship on time and right the first time. What you'll take on day-to-day Set up and change over Swiss-style CNC lathes for production and NPI parts, including tool changes, offsets, and program debugging/optimization. Operate and care for Swiss lathes, finishing equipment, hand tools, and fixtures; perform deburr and cosmetic finishing as needed. Read blueprints, inspection check sheets, and work instructions to translate requirements into process steps. Measure with calipers, micrometers, height stands, and comparators to validate features and dimensions. Use ERP and machine monitoring tools to manage work orders, track production, and capture quality checks electronically. Provide clear, detailed feedback to CNC programmers; maintain current setup documentation within change control procedures. Guide teammates in your area to maximize machine utilization and throughput; assist with training when needed. Drive quality and delivery improvements within the cell and execute the production plan for on-time delivery. Shifts & premium pay 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM 2nd or 3rd Shift: Monday–Thursday (4:30 PM–3:00 AM or 7:30 PM–6:00 AM) Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM (work 36 hours, get paid for 40) Premium: 15% for all weekend and off-shift hours What you bring High school diploma or equivalent (advanced technical training preferred). 5+ years operating Swiss-style lathes in manufacturing. Experience with Citizen, Tsugami, or similar platforms preferred. Broad knowledge of machines, tooling, measurement, and gauging; strong grasp of production processes. Mastery of setups, blueprint interpretation, routers, and setup files. Understanding of functional/cosmetic requirements to ensure quality assembly. Working knowledge of basic CNC programming. Strong verbal communication skills; effective across production, management, and technical teams. Familiarity with lean principles and objectives. Ability to follow direction and execute tasks as assigned by a supervisor. Commitment to core values and professional conduct.
