About The Position
The Service Manager will oversee an assigned territory of contract and company-owned wean-to-finish sites. This role involves training and managing farm staff, ensuring proper production practices, assessing newly placed pigs, managing marketing projections and pig selection for market, coordinating with the maintenance department for site upkeep, troubleshooting ventilation systems, and diagnosing health issues on the farm.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational & time management skills.
- Prior swine management experience.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Responsibilities
- Train & manage farm staff to ensure proper production practices are followed.
- Initial inventory & assessment of newly placed pigs.
- Marketing – weekly projections & selection of pigs for market.
- Work with maintenance dept. to ensure all site maintenance is current.
- Ability to troubleshoot & adjust ventilation.
- Accessing health issues and the ability to perform on farm diagnostics.
