About The Position

The Athletic Coach organizes, supervises, and instructs student-athletes in the assigned sport while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, skill development, and character. The coach supports the district’s educational mission by providing a safe and positive athletic experience for all participants. This position is at Hamilton Southeastern High School.

Responsibilities

Plan and conduct practices, training sessions, and competitions.
Teach sport-specific skills, rules, and strategies.
Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and responsible behavior among student-athletes.
Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities.
Ensure compliance with district policies and Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) rules.
Monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and encourage academic success.
Communicate effectively with students, parents or guardians, school staff, and administration.
Maintain equipment, uniforms, and program records.
Model professionalism and positive conduct consistent with district expectations.
Nurture positive relationships with superiors, subordinates, and peers, and demonstrate respect for them.
Support corporation decisions and direction concerning policy and administrative directives.
Work as a team player.
Handle sensitive issues tactfully and professionally.
Address concerns and offer suggestions appropriately and confidentially.
