About The Position
The Shady Grove Family YMCA is looking for an experienced, motivated, and reliable swim team coach to help mentor and encourage our swim team participants. This position is responsible for providing workouts, instructions, motivation, and support to our swim team. Focus should be on creating a safe and fun environment. This position serves as the primary coach on deck during team practices and is expected to lead practices 2-4 nights a week.
Requirements
- Current Professional CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
- YMCA/or American Red Cross Lifeguard/or Ellis certification.
- Ability to perform all four strokes (backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle).
- Strong sense of teamwork.
- Ability to collaborate with other coaches and team leaders.
Nice To Haves
- YMCA Swim Instructor or WSI certification.
- Current O2 certification.
- Competitive swimming experience.
- Experience coaching and managing team practices several days a week.
