About The Position

A Swim School Supervisor's primary purpose is to ensure students receive high quality swim lessons. They support the swim instructors during swim lessons, build strong relationships with swim school participants and families, and ensure pool rules are enforced and followed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (in progress accepted)
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR certification
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Teaching swim lessons for a minimum of 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Wave Swim School curriculum as well as general policies and procedures (training provided).
  • Supervise, evaluate, and provide feedback to swim instructors.
  • Train new swim instructors and provide ongoing training for all instructors
  • Supervise the deck to ensure smooth running operations.
  • Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere at the facility.
  • Build relationships with swim school participants and families to ensure customer satisfaction and support the Wave community.
  • Provide excellent guest service to swim school families in person, email and via phone calls.
  • Ensure swim instructor shifts are filled and be prepared to substitute swim instructor shifts when coverage is needed
  • Be prepared to substitute lifeguard shifts when coverage is needed
  • Various administrative tasks including handling customer accounts, class assignments, creating program materials, etc.
  • Determine whether or not a student has mastered all the required skills in their level and is ready to advance to the next class.
  • Data collection and tracking, including student progress, retention rates, and swim instructor skills
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
  • Perform maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe facility.
  • Implement and/or lead the implementation of Emergency Action Plans when needed.
  • Provide emergency care and treatment as required and/or until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Monitor pool water chemistry through water testing; ensure that all required chemical checks are taking place and being recorded.
  • Advise staff of additional cleaning tasks as needed, based on facility conditions.
  • Maintain and abide by all King County Health Code standards.
  • Complete required reports and records including incident, accident, theft, vandalism and any other incidents of concern.
