About The Position
The Mount Laurel YMCA is seeking individuals aged 15 and older to serve as swim instructors or aides. This role is ideal for those who love swimming and working with children, and are passionate about teaching the lifesaving skill of swimming. As a swim instructor or aide, you will develop valuable skills such as communication, leadership, and responsibility.
Requirements
- Age 15+
- Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
- Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
- Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
- Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
- Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
- Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
