About The Position
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking individuals, age 15+, to serve as swim instructors or aides. This role is ideal for those who love swimming and working with children, and are passionate about teaching the lifesaving skill of swimming. As a swim instructor or aide, you will develop important skills such as communication, leadership, and responsibility.
Requirements
- Age 15+
- Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
- Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
- Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
- Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
- Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
- Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
