About The Position

Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent will perform swim instruction duties at the Memorial pool. Selected candidates must successfully pass their criminal background check in order to be considered for this position. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4(qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.

Requirements

• NLS as well as Standard First Aid are required.
• Two-year coaching/teaching experience is requested.
• Must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
• High School Diploma
• 3 Years Related Experience

Nice To Haves

• Experience in coaching competitive swim is favorable, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach group swim lessons to children and adults.
• While on duty, supervise the pool area where these lessons are being taught.
• Identify and immediately address any safety concerns which may occur in their area.
