About The Position

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking individuals, age 15+, to serve as swim instructor aides. This role is ideal for those who love swimming and working with children, and are passionate about teaching the lifesaving skill of swimming. As a swim instructor aide, you will develop important skills such as communication, leadership, and responsibility.

Requirements

• Age 15+
• Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim
• Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification
• Ability to complete and pass our in-water skills assessment

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment that allows members and participants to learn to swim
• Encourage and support students to provide an enjoyable aquatics experience
• Evaluate swimming skills; complete progress reports for each session; complete communications for parents
• Participate as a part of the aquatics staff team in providing a safe and enjoyable environment
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
