About The Position

Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Swim Instructor provides safe and motivating aquatic instruction with an emphasis on member engagement in accordance with the mission, strategic plan, goals and all policies and procedures of the YMCA of Dane County, Inc. and the Y-USA Best Practices. This is a part-time opportunity great for high school and college students, as well as retirees.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age.
• Possess or obtain within the indicated time frame the following certifications and keep all certifications current: -Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid within 30 days of hire. -Y Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention, and Blood Borne Pathogen training required within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Swim Instructor experience is preferred, but not required
• Strong swim skills and basic knowledge of all swim strokes: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke, elementary backstroke and butterfly (is preferred)
