Part-Time Swim Instructor - Alamo Ranch
About The Position
Emler Swim and Gymnastic Schools is hiring a part-time Swim Instructor to teach children from 6 months to 12 years old. Instructors teach water safety and swimming skills in a safe, fun, encouraging environment, build positive relationships with students and parents, and celebrate students’ progress. The role is active and involves working on your feet and in the pool. Paid, hands-on training and mentorship are provided; previous teaching or swim experience is a plus but not required. The position follows set shifts that include evenings and weekends, with opportunities to pick up additional hours. Pay is $10.00–$13.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and certifications. Entry-level team members start at the beginning of the pay range, with opportunities for increases as they develop. Emler Swim and Gymnastic Schools operate in 12 states and have more than 60 locations. Applicants are subject to a background check following a conditional offer, and the organization participates in E-Verify.
Requirements
- Love working with children and bring positive energy.
- Be reliable, safety-minded, and professional, with strong communication skills.
- Be able to work evenings and weekends on a set schedule.
- Be comfortable in the water and active on your feet.
Nice To Haves
- Previous teaching or swim experience.
- Relevant certifications, which may contribute to pay.
Responsibilities
- Train with an experienced mentor to learn the organization’s swim instruction methods.
- Teach weekly lessons and encourage students as they reach milestones.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students and parents.
- Prioritize safety for everyone in and around the pool.
- Teach classes for children from 6 months to 12 years old.
