About The Position
The Swim Instructor teaches lifesaving swimming skills to swimmers of all ages, from infants and young children to adults. The role includes helping learners build confidence in the water, develop swimming techniques, and learn water safety. The instructor works onsite in a pool and contributes to a welcoming, collaborative YMCA team focused on supporting children and the community. This is a part-time position paying $11.50 to $13.00 per hour, with a fun, flexible schedule.
Requirements
- Possess and maintain a Lifeguarding or YMCA Aquatics Safety Assistant (YASA) certification.
- Possess and maintain Adult/Child/Infant CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
- Earn certifications in Fundamentals of Teaching Swim Lessons and Youth & Adult Swim Lessons, or Parent/Child & Preschool Swim Lessons.
- Be enthusiastic and patient.
- Have a passion for swimming and teaching.
Responsibilities

- Help adults refine their swimming strokes.
- Create a positive and engaging learning experience for swimmers.
