About The Position

Logan Health Medical Fitness Center is seeking enthusiastic, safety-minded, and engaging Swim Instructors to teach both group and private swim lessons in their growing aquatic program. This role is crucial in helping individuals, from toddlers to experienced swimmers, develop essential water safety skills and confidence. The position emphasizes creating a safe, encouraging, and fun learning environment, utilizing established teaching methods and adapting to individual swimmer needs. Instructors will prepare engaging lessons, maintain a clean pool area, and be prepared to perform lifesaving duties if necessary, working both independently and as part of a supportive team.

Requirements

  • At least 16 years old.
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and passionate about teaching.
  • Communicate well with children, adults, and parents.
  • Can keep classes on track with confident class-management skills.
  • Dependable, organized, and self-motivated.
  • Excited to teach both group and private lessons.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Comfortable learning and using basic computer programs (Microsoft Office, scheduling tools, etc.).
  • Heart Saver AED/CPR preferred (or must obtain within 60 days of hire).
  • Must complete LHMFC Swim Instructor Training within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • National aquatic/swim instructor certification preferred for group lessons.
  • National aquatic/swim instructor certification required for private lessons.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality swim instruction using LHMFC’s established progressions and teaching methods.
  • Create a safe, encouraging, and fun learning environment for swimmers of all ages.
  • Use “show, tell, and do” techniques to teach proper skills and stroke development.
  • Adapt lessons to each swimmer’s abilities and goals using clear, age-appropriate language.
  • Prepare lessons that keep students engaged, progressing, and excited to return.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pool deck.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of our emergency action plan and perform lifesaving duties if necessary.
  • Work both independently and as part of our supportive aquatic team.
