About The Position

Daland Swim School is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and positive Swim Instructor to teach children and adults swimming and water safety skills. Instructors create a fun, encouraging environment, help students overcome fears and build confidence, and celebrate their progress. Previous swim teaching experience is not required; paid, hands-on training is provided. The role requires a consistent weekly schedule that includes some evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Friendly, patient, enthusiastic, and dependable.
• Comfortable working with children and being in the water.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to maintain a consistent weekly schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to participate in paid training and ongoing professional development.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in childcare, teaching, coaching, or swimming is a plus.
• Previous swim instruction experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging swim lessons to students of different ages and abilities.
• Demonstrate swimming techniques and essential water safety skills.
• Create a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
• Help students build confidence, improve their skills, and celebrate their progress.
• Communicate with parents and guardians about student development.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool environment.
• Work collaboratively with fellow instructors and management to provide an excellent experience for every swimmer.
