You will lead safe, engaging lessons using the Y’s curriculum while creating a supportive and inclusive environment for swimmers of varying ages and skill levels. This role involves teaching and adapting swim lessons, supervising swimmers and enforcing pool-safety rules, assessing ability and progression, maintaining equipment and program records, and communicating with participants, families, and Y associates. Instructors also promote Y swim programs, maintain a clean and welcoming environment, and model the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The anticipated pay range is $16–$20 per hour. Placement within the range is based on relevant experience, education, qualifications, and internal equity. New Swim Instructors may be eligible for a $200 sign-on and training bonus if they meet the stated hiring, training, shadowing, clearance, and Spring I teaching-schedule requirements.
