Swim Instructor / Training Provided
About The Position
Gold’s Aquatics Camas is looking for dependable, energetic Swim Instructors to join their team. Instructors will teach swimmers of all ages and abilities, from young children who are just getting comfortable in the water to more advanced swimmers working on stroke technique. No prior teaching experience is required, as training and support will be provided to help new instructors become confident and effective. This is a part-time position with lessons taking place on weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings. The role offers an opportunity for advancement, training and development, and employee discounts.
Requirements
- Enjoys working with children
- Dependable and arrives ready to teach
- Communicates well with swimmers, parents, and coworkers
- Comfortable in the water and has basic swimming skills
- Willing to learn and receive feedback
- Can work afternoon/evening and/or weekend shifts
Nice To Haves
- Previous swim instruction experience
- Lifeguard certification
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- Other aquatics certifications
Responsibilities
- Teach safe, engaging swim lessons using the Gold’s Aquatics curriculum
- Help swimmers build skills, confidence, and independence in the water
- Give clear instruction, encouragement, and feedback
- Maintain active supervision and follow all pool safety standards
- Communicate with parents about their swimmer’s progress
- Help keep the lesson area organized and ready for classes
- Work as part of a supportive aquatics team
