Swim Instructor - Johnstown
About The Position
Are you comfortable and confident in the water? Does laughter and the sounds of splashing make you smile? If you've got the personality, we can train you for this job. Opportunities include weekday mornings, weekday afternoons, multiple opportunities on Saturdays and/or Sundays. You do not need to be available for all shifts to apply. The salary range is $16.50-$22.50 per hour depending on experience and availability and we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English. Requirements
- Proficient swimming and safety/rescue skills.
- Professional, alert, courteous, and tactful.
- Blood Borne Pathogens Training within 30 days of being hired.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching swim lessons or previous competitive swimming experience is not necessary but preferred.
- YMCA Swimming Lessons Instructor and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor preferred.
Responsibilities
- Enthusiastic and portray a positive attitude.
- Relate positively to a variety of people including other staff, parents, and program participants.
- Must be organized, and eager to teach (lesson plans provided).
- Other duties as assigned.
